Short Biography:

Israt Jahan is currently serving as a Lecturer in the Department of Media Studies and Journalism at the World University of Bangladesh (WUB). She earned her second master’s degree in Digital Media from London Metropolitan University, United Kingdom. Earlier, she obtained both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Mass Communication and Journalism from the University of Dhaka.

Israt Jahan has earned valuable professional experience over the past five years working at the renowned British multinational company ‘ Marks and Spencer’. During this time, she developed strong communication skills through collaborating with multicultural and multilingual colleagues in a dynamic team environment.

Israt began her professional journey during her university years in Bangladesh, working as a feature writer for two renowned national newspapers, The Daily Jugantar and The Daily Kaler Kantho, alongside journalism, she also served as a Lecturer at the well reputed university coaching centre (UCC), Where she guided university admission candidates.

Israt Jahan pursued her second Master’s degree in Digital Media at London Metropolitan University, UK, motivated by the growing global demand for digital communication and the transition from traditional to digital platforms. Her dissertation presented a comparative analysis of BBC and Al Jazeera’s news websites, with a particular emphasis on their representation of the Rohingya crisis.

Israt Jahan has several research publications in reputed international journals, reflecting her academic engagement with contemporary issues in media and society. Her works include a study on the Representation of the Rohingya Crisis in BBC and Al Jazeera Online News, a Systematic Literature Review on the Causes of Cybercrime Victimization, Challenges of Cyber Policing in Reducing Victimization and the COVID-19, Climate Change and Challenges from the Bangladesh Perspective. These contributions highlight her focus on digital media, cybercrime, and global humanitarian challenges.

Israt Jahan combines academic expertise, professional experience, and research excellence. Her work reflects a commitment to understanding contemporary media dynamics and addressing global societal challenges.
